CARGOMANAGER technical issues.

The online manual can be accessed here. (This is installed on the end-user PC as part of the software installation process). Section 2 and Appendix 1 cover most technical issues.

The first point of reference in the case of problems should be the user manual. However the tips below discuss the most common reasons for customer calls. They also include links to additional support documents as appropriate.

Does CARGOMANAGER require long filename support? No - except for files created by the Webbase module.

CARGOMANAGER has two databases - an ITEM database and a 'link' database - what formats do they use? A support document can be accessed here.

Can CARGOMANAGER take data from other systems? Yes certainly, Appendix 3 of the manual discusses this in some detail.

When I install CARGOMANAGER does it delete old files? Only old 'executable' files - it does not delete any of the user created files which are detailed at the end of Section 2 of the manual. Thus if you suspect corrupted files you should install to a new folder (and test operation there), and then introduce (copy over) the user datafiles to the new folder. These datafiles are listed at the end of Section 2 of the manual.

Where are files placed during installation? All files are copied to the installation folder - by default folder c:\cargont. No files are placed under Windows save for the entry in Windows / Start Menu / Programs. Thus to move the software from machine to machine one normally only needs to copy all the files in the installation folder (and below) and add a link to the file runcargo.exe.

Are foreign language versions of the software available? The software as standard supports screen / printer operations in English, French, German and Danish. This is selected from the opening screen.

Are old CARGOMANAGER file formats supported in the current release? Yes, certainly.
